“Andy Warhol – Icons”: The Modern Art Gallery at the Saarland Museum presents an exhibition dedicated to one of the key figures of Pop Art. The exhibition explores Warhol’s approach to visual repetition, mass production and the tension between art and consumer culture. The heart of the exhibition are Andy Warhol’s silkscreen prints, which reveal both his working processes and his deliberate engagement with the visual worlds of the media. Through iconic motifs – ranging from consumer goods to portraits of public figures – it becomes clear how Warhol analysed the mechanisms of attention and marketing and translated them into his own visual logic.
